Dato 'Seri Di Raja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir was born on March 22, 1962. He started his early education in Pulau Pangkor and continued his secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Bukit Gantang, Parit Buntar.
He continued his tertiary education and obtained B.Econs (Hons) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 1987. He finished his postgraduate study in Islamic Thought (IIUM) in 1991. The following year he went to Temple University where he obtained MA (Political Philosophy and Comparative Religions) and Ph.D.
Dato 'Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir began to active in politic after returning from the United States. He was a member of the Perak State Executive Council and Chairman of the Innovation, Science and Technology and Higher Education Comittee. On 6 February 2009, Dato 'Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir was appointed as the 11th Chief Minister of Perak.
